Halloween at Bran Castle runs from 24 October to 1 November 2026, and in that week the castle sells only Halloween tickets. Daytime themed tours cost from 100 lei from 24 to 30 October and from 300 lei on Halloween Day itself; the adults-only Blood Moon party on the night of 31 October starts at 800 lei. All of it is sold online by the castle, in limited numbers (bran-castle.com, read 26 October 2026).

The ordinary Standard Tour is not on sale in this week. If you turn up on 27 October expecting the usual 100 lei ticket and a quiet visit, you will get the themed New Moon tour at about the same price, with more people.
Are the night tickets still available? We could not confirm it. The castle’s pages give prices but no live stock, and the numbers are limited. Check the ticket page before you plan an overnight around it.
Do they celebrate Halloween in Romania?
Not traditionally. Halloween is an import in Romania, celebrated mostly in Bucharest’s clubs and in Transylvanian tourism. The local tradition at this time of year is different: in late November, on the eve of St Andrew’s Day, Romanian folklore says the strigoi, the restless spirits of the dead, walk, and garlic goes on doors and windows. Bran’s Halloween is a party for visitors, staged with the castle’s Dracula legend, and it is very good at being that.
How to get to Bran for Halloween night
The Blood Moon party ends at 04:00 and there is no public transport back to Brasov or Bucharest at that hour. You have three choices:
- Stay in Bran village. Guesthouses sit right below the castle and book out first for 31 October. This is the easy option; see where to stay for the castles.
- Stay in Brasov and book a taxi back for the end of the night, about 30 km.
- Book a Halloween package that bundles transport and a party. The Bucharest Halloween tour of Dracula's Castle and party runs on 31 October: a coach from Piata Constitutiei, entry to Bran Castle, then a party with a DJ and an open bar at a separate venue until 2:00, and back in Bucharest in the morning, from $393 with 5 reviews so far (checked October 2026). Note that it is its own party, not the castle’s Blood Moon event, so read the inclusions line by line before you choose.
For the daytime New Moon tours, any Bran day trip from Bucharest gets you there; the castle ticket is bought separately, and in this week it is the Halloween one.
Halloween at Bran or a normal day?
If you want the party, go at Halloween. If you want the castle, go any other week. The castle at Halloween is louder, costlier and more crowded, and the rooms are harder to see. In the first weeks of November the Standard Tour is back at 100 lei for an adult, the winter hours start on 2 November (09:00-18:00, Mondays from 12:00), and the stairs are quiet.
One November catch: Peles Castle is closed from 2 November to 1 December 2026 for conservation (peles.ro). Day trips run as usual and show you Peles from the outside, and some offer Pelisor instead; Cantacuzino Castle in Busteni, which our top-pick day trip from Bucharest already includes, is unaffected.

Planning Halloween 2027
The castle sells its Halloween programme online, on its own ticket page. The 2026 edition is a useful template for next year: a themed day tour across the last week of October, Halloween Day on 31 October, a night party and a dinner tier, and a family day on 1 November. Book the night tiers and a Bran guesthouse as soon as the programme is out, and the daytime tours closer to the date.
